The reality depends on what you mean! We do sell on-site pagers and paging systems from LRS that can be low cost... but we NEVER sell 'cheap' equipment similar to some of the Retekess products - and there are many. Why? Because one way or another the product, its quality, the support, and warranty are ALWAYS compromised with those types of systems. We only sell low cost solutions with great range, excellent support and with a 3 year warranty against manufacturing defects. In short our systems are fully professional and work for years... guaranteed!
As the UK office of LRS from Dallas TX, USA. We have sold quality pagers for guests and customers as well as staff since 2000 and continue to do so. Unlike many systems today, we tend to only sell and support what we know to be the best and most professional communications equipment out there. LRS pagers are copied over and over, but the copies always lack in one area or another and ultimately the customer suffers. Some customers think all pagers are 'the same'. We supply some of the biggest (and not so big) customers in the UK, Southern Ireland and other areas that need pro quality products and support, and need high quality equipment. It is extremely unlikely that our customers would buy 'cheap' pagers.
LRS paging equipment certainly is properly certified. LRS spends substantial money on ensuring that FCC, CE, RoHS, WEEE and other standards are actually adhered to properly. When you see those marks on our equipment you can be sure that they are genuine and we can supply REAL certification and even the laboratory tests to prove the point. Many of the 'cheap' brands available on eBay and Amazon will supply generic approval documents from what we see, and some of those documents don't even relate to the same equipment! Remember that if you use the equipment YOU are liable and not the supplier!
The range varies dependent on two transmitters. Our low end unit is 1/2 watt (or 500Mw) whereas our premium transmitter is 2 watts (or 2000 Mw) power output. The Chinese 'cheap' systems similar to the Retekess system we bought operate on 433 MHz and have an output of just 10Mw output - that's 200 times less than our most powerful transmitter and even 50 times less power than our 1/2 watt transmitter - no wonder those 'cheap' paging systems have little range. The fact is, that equipment operating on 433Mhz is restricted BY LAW to 10Mw output and cannot be legally sold or used at higher output at that frequency in the UK. The frequency of 433MHz is typically used for car remotes so what do you expect? There has never been any situation that confirms more than you always get what you pay for! It's a fact.
We offer a trial of our equipment to ensure it works for you on your site. You won't find the Chinese 'cheap' systems doing that anytime soon.
Scarily, we DO offer a price match. But don't get too excited, we only do that with companies that sell comparable equipment and those cheap Chinese pagers are not even in the same ball park.
While some might think that it's a problem, we don't. There can be issues relating to technical problems, or products that genuinely fail from time to time. Rest assured that our on-site engineers will be on any issues you may have immediately. If we think necessary, we'll send out replacement equipment and collect the problem unit. But understand that with a 0.3% failure rate we typically see about three in every thousand units we sell that have an issue, so the chances of seeing a product with issues is virtually nil. All of our equipment is custom checked before shipping and set up to your exact needs free of charge.
All of our paging systems are custom setup for customers and carry no-cost for that work. No matter how complex your system, we NEVER charge for setting up new systems.
Sadly for competitors, everything we say we actually do deliver. It's why we have been here since 2000! We're not allowed to name some of our customers, but you will have heard of all of them. We work with companies that need their communications equipment to work professionally and properly over and over. And we deliver.
We also supply two-way radios throughout the UK and have some of the keenest deals around - just ask.
